Bhoolna mat !

Yeah thats the instruction I got this morning ..for what ?? For finishing his leftover breakfast. He doesnot like to waste food, so when he thinks he cannot finish something he gives it to one of us and insists that we finish it.

This morning I gave him a banana and he did not eat it. So while leaving for school he tells me , "Mumma aap banana finish kar dena ..okay ..bhoolna mat!!"

---------------------------------------
On a different note , there is more I do not want to forget , so making use of the title :)

Yesterday he asked me , Mumma , can I call you Mother ?
So I said yes !
Aryan :Can I call you Mom ?
Me :Yes! You can call me Mumma , Mummy , Mom, Mother, Ma.
Aryan : And what can I call papa ?
Me : Umm..Papa , Dad , Daddy, Father, Pitaji
Aryan : Pita ji :D I will call you mother and Pitaji
Me : Okay
So yesterday full day I was addressed as Mother and Anupam was addressed as Pita ji. It was so funny to hear him say so. We participated in the fun by replying to him as Son and Putra.
---------------------------------------
Yesterday at bedtime , Mother when baby will come, we will take the baby in pram to parking. Then you lift the baby and I will fold and keep the pram in boot. Then you sit with baby in the back seat.

Me : No, you and baby will sit in back seat and Mumma will sit in front.

Aryan : Arree !!! NO , I will have to drive na , I will be big as Pita ji. Pitaji and baby can sit in back seat then.

Me : When you will be big as papa , baby will also be big ..right ??

Aryan confused now ..keeps thinking ..but baby might be tired walking so we can use pram ???

Me : Baby will not fit in pram when baby is big

Aryan : Hmm..but baby will first be small , 0 years , then 1 year then 2 , then 3 , then 4 like me ,then 5 , then only baby will be big ..hai na ??

Me : Haan

And thats where the dialogue ended. I do not know the conclusion though :D

Aapki tabiyat kaise hai ??

"Abhi theek nahi hai :D :D"

Yeah thats the answer you will get when you ask him this question. Don't miss the grins at the end.

He has fever since the day school started and so he is not going to school. The fever is high when its there but the gap between the fever is about 10 hours or so. So in these 10 hours the kid is happy and active except when you offer him food. Or when you ask him , "aapki tabiyat kaise hai"

Since no fever means the end of extended vacation with no school and no daycare :)

These kids are too smart for parents :P

Papa's AA

Every morning when Papa gets ready, Aryan asks him , "Papa kaun sa shoes" (which shoes you want to wear?) and runs to get those. Then while papa is wearing his shoes he runs to get Papa's Icard and car keys and hands them over to Papa. And then he goes hunting Papa's mobile and asks "mobile liya ?"

With such a efficient administrative assistant, how can Papa forget anything ?
I am sure Anupam is happy that atleast his son does all that his wife never did for him.

Chocolates

Aryan suddenly comes and gives a very warm kiss to Mumma and says ,
"Mumma aapko chocolate khana hai"
Mumma : (surprised by sudden love and offer and thinking , lets see what he is upto) "haan, kahan hai chocolate?"
Aryan : "In the market"
Mumma : "Okay , so you will get from market?"
Aryan : "Yes , Aryan and Papa will get"
Mumma : "For me :-D"
Aryan : "yes , aapke liye aur Aryan ke liye "

Securing his chocolate in my name ..smart and wicked !

Papa Car , Aryan Car , pike pike , peeko peeko

He is fascinated about cars and wants to drive one as soon as possible. All his games and talks revolve around cars these days. He is so much into it that I cannot explain that in words.

Today morning soon after bath when he is just in towel:

Aryan : "Main papa car drive karoonga" (one of his most commom ask these days)
Me : "No Aryan , aap abhi bahut chote ho , pehle papa jaise big ho jao , tab papa car chalana"
(now some tricks) "Aryan aapko pata hai , agar aap school jaoge , toh new things seekhoge , aur jaldi se bade ho jaoge"
Aryan : "Anirudh Jaise"
(YEAH ..He does call him "Anirudh" at times , while if I call him "Anirudh" I get a scolding ,"Mumma Anirudh nahi kehte , bolo ANIRUDH BHAIYA")
Me : "Haan Anirudh Bhaiya jaise"
Aryan : "Main pike-pike karoonga"
(Pike-Pike is the sound that comes when we unlock the car , you know the sound of center locking)
Me : "Ok"
Aryan : " gimme menote" (give me remote) " papaaaa ..gimme pike pike menote"
Papa : "ok" (gets the remote and hands over to Aryan

These days every evening Aryan , Mumma and Mickey mouse (MM) (an ugly old mickey mouse soft toy that Aryan loves for God knows why) go "ghumma" (outing) in Aryan's car.
And the role play fever has gone to next level.

Aryan : "Mumma Mickey mouse Aryan hai" (mickey mouse is Aryan) "Mumma Mickey mouse main papa"
Me : "You are papa of mickey mouse"
Aryan : "yes"
Aryan : "Mumma baitho , ghumma jayenge , Aryan car" Needless to say I am Aryan's mom ..thankfully :)
Me : "Kahan jayenge"
Aryan : " Subji wala" (Vegetable shop / supermarket)
Me : ok (I stand behind his pedal car , coz its too small for me to sit :P)
Aryan : "Mumma mickey mouse ko toh le aao"
I follow the instruction
Aryan : "Main door kholta hoon" , pretends to open car door and I make MM sit in the car.
Aryan : "peeko peeko taai tai , peeko peeko taai tai, peeko peeko taai tai"
This is car in reverse gear , the sound is of reverse gear horn , as it comes from his Nanu (my father's car).
He drives thr in reverse , watching sides like his dad , turns it and then says ,
"Mumma baitho"

I stand at the back of car and move as the car moves and we reach subzi wala , which is a nearby table or chair.

Aryan : "Mumma aap Mickey mouse ko le lo , main park karta hoon. peeko peeko tai tai "
Aryan : "Mumma tomato le lo"
Me : "Uncle tomato dena , 1 kg" , carry a virtual carry bag and come back
Aryan :" Mumma , paise toh do"
I give virtual money
Aryan : "Main boot kholta hoon"
Pretends to open car boot , with a spare keys that he consider his car keys
I keep virtual vegetable bags in boot , he closes the boot , locks it and we come home.

I hope you get the drift. We do go to buy clothes for MM too :)

Role Play

Role play is a favourite game at this age. Till now it was only limited to humans.

Like Aryan playing papa and Mumma playing mumma and Aryan's car playing papa's car and we go and buy veggies from uncle (invisible) who sits on ironing table selling vegetables.

Or like Mumma playing A and Aryan playing B kids of the day care.

But these days its different.

It goes like this :

"Mumma , I cockroach , You lizard"

I wonder whats next !!

Fun at the Weddings !

As many of you know that I was on vacation for 10 days to attend 2 of Anupam's cousins weddings , one in Kota and another in Jaipur.Aryan enjoyed his time at the weddings.
He rocked the floor in his dhoti kurta ,dancing Mithun style in Kota during the sangeet function. But since it was too cold in kota and he being not used to it (born and brought up in Bangalore) he lost all his enthusiasm after sometime and I had to go inside to put him to sleep.

In Jaipur though weather was better and he thoroughly enjoyed both the functions. From dancing in sangeet , to dancing in barat , to sitting on horse with chachu , to touching the horse to see how it feels , to eating loads of ladoos , to trying the bridal chair , to wearing a gardland he did everything. And since he was with his dadu dadi , Tau ji taiji , bua phupha ji and lis cousins he was already on cloud nine.He was so excited that he used to forget when he was hungry and I was running after him for food.

Here is a glimpse of all the fun :

Doing Disco in Dhoti :-)

"Duck Ride : As he called it"

"Sitting Over his Cousin's back"

"Full Masti Mood"

"Dancing in Barat : In Papa's lap"

"Playing with Flowers : Don't I look like a little groom!"

"Pushp Varsha"

"Can someone put a rose for me ?"

"Ok ..I will manage myself ..others are busy with chachu"

Candy on Loan

Yesterday evening Aryan suddenly wanted to have "chOklete". So since he had little sore throat I gave him cough drops. Thinking that its some new "chOklete" , aryan grabbed it. After sucking it for 2 minutes , he took it out and pushed it in his papa's mouth. Poor papa could not do much, while Aryan by that time demanded to have gems (sugar coated small choclate balls). So mumma gave him one while papa had the cough drops. But soon the gems was over and Aryan grabbed papa's mouth to get the candy back. Needless to say that candy was already over by that time. So Aryan started crying badly.
Now how was papa supposed to know that the candy was given only on loan and papa was supposed to suck it but not finish it :-P

New Ghar and Aryan

We shifted house on 29th of December. Rented ofcourse , close by to Anupam's office and Aryan's day care. So the new year eve was celebrated with settling down in new home !

Now if you wonder why does this post come on Aryan's blog. I will tell you why. Because this post talks just about him.

We decided to shift , for him , his day care will be closeby and that gives him more time with us at home and reduce his travel time. Plus I wanted outdoor play area for Aryan , which I think is his need at this age.

I was apprehensive about shifting house , for him , coz I wondered how will he react to the change.

We shifted on a weekday for him , coz I did not want him around with all the packing and lifting going on. So he was left at day care.

Now about his reactions :)

After the shifting done , we decided to pick him up from day care and recheck the old house before giving away the keys. We had also asked his day care person to mentor him about the change during the day and I did the same in the car.

So when we reached the old house , he ran around the empty house , looking for his precious possessions. He shouted ..."Papa , Engine ??? , Papa , PACHING PACHINE(to be read as washing machine) ?????? " and so on. With the discovery of each lost item , he looked more amused , angry and surprised. And to each question we told him , its all in "new ghar".

So finally when he found nothing in the house except 2 lost fridge magnets , he collected those and we went to the old landlord to hand over the keys.

He was cranky at their place and wanted to go to new ghar as soon as possible.

So we went to his new ghar. As soon he entered the house he checked his engine , then washing machine , then cycle and then rest of the toys.

Then he ran over the fresh bedsheet on our bed (with shoes on!!) and said "WOW".

That made our day , both of us felt such sense of relief that moment.

But that was not all. Next day he did not want to go to day care and said that he wants to stay in new ghar. I do not know if that was excitement of new house or the fact that he understood that house was shifted in his absence.

Anyways we left him in day care and he came back all excited in the evening about the house. I took him down for cycling and swings and he played and played and played and never wanted to come back. Finally I had to literally drag him back home at 7.30 PM due to mosquitos.

So this excitement has continued till now so much so that he did not sleep for a minute yesterday, perhaps he still thinks that this new ghar is for few days or so.

I just hope that he continues to like new ghar , but this excitement mellows down a little so that he sleeps over the weekend and I get some time to arrange my stuff :-)

P.S. : Wishing you a very Happy New Year !!

Random Incidents

Long since I wrote a nice nice post for Aryan. It has been so many times that I thought that he said or did something so blog worthy but by the time I would get time to write I would forget all. So here are a few random things I can recall , before its too late.

1. I have a metrosexual man in my house , who is a little too enthusiastic about his looks. Every day he massages his hands and face with all the cream he can grab and the process takes a good 30-45 minutes. And he blames the kids in his day care to grab the bottle of cream. So this is like it goes :

Aryan : Mumma , Kaata (pointing at his wrist, with the bottle of cream in his hand)
Mumma : Kisne ?
Aryan : Aadi or Rishab or Paati or Aunty or mosquito(Basically whatever comes to his mouth first)
Mumma : Thik hai , cream laga lo
Aryan happily starts massaging where ever he wants with handful of cream

2. Its not that he is just worried about his own looks. I mean who wants a old wrinkled mom, to show off to friends. So he takes care of his lazy and careless mom too. He gives mom a facial and a manicure. Plus thai masaage on her legs too :-) Okay ..don't just start feeling J ladies.
But I am not lying. After he is done with himself , he starts massaging mumma's face and hands. And almost every night he comes with powder to massage my legs :-)

3. He is being crazy about Aeroplanes and Helicopters and he can hear them sound from anywhere and spot them from anywhere even in night sky. And he expects us also to do the same and when are not able to , he cries :-P Whats more funny is , he asks the aeroplanes and helicopters and birds to take him into their lap. He goes like "aeloplane godi" , "chiya godi" , "helitopter godi". During our diwali trip when he actually saw aeroplanes at the airport he was too excited and amazed. But when he sat inside one , he could not understand that he is actually inside the plane and wanted to go to all the other ones he could see. I tried too hard to explain that you are already in the plane but no use :P

4. From past 3 days he is telling be aphabets , as in ABCD. I do not know if he got from older kids in creche or from the lady in the creche. Although its not always in sequence but you can hear him saying 5-10 alphabets at random , which I think is good since I never taught him any. So the other day he was sating "B for ..." I was not able to get what he was trying to say after for. So I used all my vocabulary from ball to bat to boy etc. Finally I realized that it was butterfly :-)
And P for "peacock" , when I don't know if he knows what a peacock is :-)

5. Last but not the least. From past 2 days , our little dad makes both my and Anupam sleep on both his arms and pats our head and you should see the affection on his face :-)

My little sweetheart ..LOVE YOU !

Men will be Men !

I have always believed that men are born with love for cars and bikes and whatever you do , it remains and it cannot be changed.

Aryan endorsed my belief. While I was just struggling to teach him the difference between a car and a bus and a truck. He was actually trying to figure out the difference between the Hyundai Santro and the Maruti Swift and the Honda City!

Believe it or not ! I never told him any car by its make, for I always feared of loading him off with too much of information. Nor did I expect him to distinctly tell which is his dad's car if there are 3 cars of the same colour in a row.

But last week he saw a silver Santro and told me that its Nanu's car. Okay ..I thought, conincidence. And then this week he saw a red swift and told Mama's car.Okay ..he is good, I thought. I tried with other red cars , but its only when its a red swift.

And then 2 days back he saw a grey Honda City and told me that its Tauji's car :O
