Field Trip to a Deaf School

Aryan's school took his class for a field trip to deaf school in last week of June. They wanted the kids to experience how is life different for differently abled and how blessed we are to have our senses. Earlier the plan was for blind school , but it seems like some parents objected on the idea of blind school since they did not want their kids to see that pain so early in life.

And so they went to deaf school. When I asked Aryan about the field trip , he told only little :

"We went far off. In big bus. Mujhe big bus mein bahut mazza aaya"

What did you see there ?

"Bache. Unki maam unhe hands se bata rahi thi"

"Do you know why the maam was telling them with hands ?"

No reply

"Because they cannot hear from their ears."

"okay."

Thats about it. So I do not really know if he understood what he was supposed to understand. Perhaps the blind school would have made him think more. Since the children in deaf school looked like normal kids , these kids might not have really realized what is different.

However it was his first brush with the harsh realities of life.

Trip to ice cream parlour

Aryan loves ice cream..yeah who doen't ..but these days its kind of mania ..he wants ice cream whenever we go out. So when I read on his monthly synopsis that they will take them to ice cream parlour I was so excited at the thought of it. I waited for the day for so long , but to my bad luck he got fever just a week before the trip and his dad almost decided that we will not send him to school on the D day.

But thankfully he improved and the dad got convinced that 1 scoop of ice cream is okay. So yesterday , I told him that ma'am will take him for ice cream today and he was so excited. Then I told him that if ma'am ask what ice cream you want , tell her you want "Vanilla". He could not pronounce "Vanilla" properly and so I told him that tell her that you want "white ice cream"

Updates after the school :

Me : "Aryan ice cream khane gaye the"
Aryan : With a big smile , "haan"
Me : "Kaun sa ice cream khaya"
Aryan : "strawbery , pink wala"
Me : "Wow" , pretending to cry , "meri ice cream kahan hai , mujhe bhi khana hai, pink wala"
Aryan : With a Mumma kind of pacifying look and a happy smile ,"aapko khana hai ,layenge aapke liye , chutti mein, okay ?"
Me : "promise ?"
Aryan : "yes , promise" , shakes hand
After some time ..
Aryan : with a sad face , "Mumma ma'am ne white ice cream nahi diya"

Rocket - School Trip and Craft

Aryan had a trip to HAL museum last month and I just came to know that he saw helicopter , rocket and aeroplane. And hence we made the following this weekend :

School Trip , GP day and More

The trip did happen on same day and Aryan chose not to share details.

We happened to meet his teacher when we went to school on this saturday(to deposit fees) and she told me that the trip did happen.

Later when I showed him THE supermarket and asked if he came here with ma'am , he said "yes" :P .

Further I asked what did he see here and he told "deo papa jaisa" and "lollypop"

Uff these kids na , I was almost wanting to talk to the school about not informing us about the cancellation !!


Also , Shruti reminded me that I forgot to post about Grand Parents day , so here is an update :

Grand parents day was sometime in September , I guess 10th September and none of his GP were here. The school told you can send elderly people with whom the child is attached but we had no one here.

I thought that he would be disturbed not to find anyone from his family and so suggested that we will not send him school.

Husband on the other hand suggested that he should. And so he went.

He came back usual and when I asked what happened during the day , he told me :

"New dadu-dadi aaya tha, two two"

LOL !! "two-two" means more than one !

I did tell this to his grandparents and we all had a good laugh!

Trip to Supermarket

Just for record, Aryan went for his first school trip today , to a near by super market. Waiting to meet him and hear what he says !

Editted to Add : Looks like the trip got cancelled :( Aryan told me " Ma'am Subjiwala nahi le gayi" (Subjiwala is Supermarket in Aryan's lingo)
